Imposter

Impostereveryone knows the word. except one of you.

Pass the phone round. Everyone gets the same secret word — apart from the imposter, who gets a nudge in roughly the right direction and a lot of eye contact to survive. 🕵️

Round one

Who's playing?

Three minimum, eight maximum. Blank names get a number and a lifetime of regret.

  1. Going clockwise, everyone says one word about the secret word. No sentences, no cheating, no lore.
  2. Round the table again if you fancy it. Then argue.
  3. Point at someone on the count of three. Most fingers wins the accusation.

How this works

1. Everyone gets a card. Pass the phone round the table. Hold your thumb on the card to peek, let go, hand it on. Don't be the person who shows everyone.

2. Most of you get the word. Everyone sees the category. One or two of you get a hint instead — a word near the real one, close enough to bluff with, far enough to get you caught. 🫠

3. Go round saying one word each. Not too obvious or the imposter's in. Not too cryptic or your own team turns on you.

4. Accuse someone. Point on three. Then hit reveal and find out how wrong you all were.

5. Two imposters? You'll each be told who your partner is. Whether you help each other or throw them under the bus is a personal matter.

Everyone playing today draws from the same words, shuffled differently on each phone so you don't all open on the same card. Play a category dry and it'll point you at another; a fresh lot turns up in the morning. If a word means nothing to anybody, treat that as a category of its own.

Ah.

That didn't work

Something went wrong fetching the words.
